The Medway School Committee invites families to attend a Public Forum on the Hanlon Track & Field Project. The forum will be held at Town Hall on Monday, April 14, 2025, at 7:00 pm. Join in on the process to learn about the replacement options for the project and provide valuable feedback to help move this project forward.
The School Committee meeting is tonight at 6:00 pm. All are welcome to attend the meeting, which will be held in the presentation at the Medway Middle School, 45 Holliston St (Door 7). Agenda items include the recognition of Dr. Armand Pires as being named the Massachusetts Superintendent of the Year, a public hearing on the FY '26 school department proposed budget, and an update from Middle School Principal Amana Luizzi to consider awarding the Director of Finance position to Patrick McIntyre subject to successful negotiations of the contract. It is wonderful for our students to see the opportunities that will be open to them in their later school years! The Superintendent's Update (dated 3/5/25) shares that the School Committee recently approved the 2025-2030 Medway Schools Strategic Plan. This plan will guide our work over the next five years to ensure continued excellence in education.
Across the Commonwealth, school districts are facing budget challenges, and we appreciate the collaboration of the Medway Select Board, Finance Committee, and School Committee during this process. We've requested a significant funding increase for next year, which the Town has confirmed can be met through funds from the Battery Storage facility and available tax levy.
