Vaping introduces nicotine quickly into the bloodstream. Initially, nicotine improves mood concentration, relaxes muscles, decreases appetite, and decreases feelings of anger or stress. Doesn’t sound too bad. Over time, however, vaping increases the risks of addiction, mood disorders, and reduction of impulse control. Vaping can lead to changes in the brain in those areas governing memory, attention, and learning.
One way to get a lot of the same benefits is to read. Reading for 30 minutes daily can improve memory, concentration, and sleep, reduce stress, and may also help reduce the risk of developing Alzheimer’s Disease. #buildingbrightbrains #SUPMedway #brainboost

The White Castle USA Luge Slider Search is the official nationwide athlete recruitment tour of USA Luge, targeting young athletes, ages 9-13. Established in 1985, this grass-roots program aims to identify, train, and qualify young athletes for the USA Luge Junior Development Team. Athletes who may progress through the team development ladder have hopes of one day becoming members of the National and Olympic Luge Teams.
Over the years, the White Castle USA Luge Slider Search has traveled over 250,000 miles and introduced the sport of luge to more than 25,000 eager young athletes.
On September 16 & 17, the Slider Search will be here in Medway! Each participant needs only register for one two-hour clinic. Register by phone at 1-800-USA-LUGE or online at https://www.usaluge.org/try-luge/slider-search (scroll to the bottom to find the form). All events are free, and everyone gets a cool White Castle USA Luge Slider Search T-Shirt for attending.

What is the #buildingbrightbrains campaign about?
It is a series of initiatives to share messages with parents and adolescents that brains continue to develop until age 25, and choices made during youth can change the brain's structure for better or worse.
Like this post or follow SUP Medway as we continue to empower both teens and their parents with tips on what "boosts" the brain and facts on what to avoid to not "bust" brain development.
Stay tuned for more educational posts and professional takes on how to #buildbrightbrains!
It's been a great few days of school. Reminder: There is NO school on Friday, September 1, and Monday, September 4. Enjoy the long weekend! We look forward to seeing everyone on Tuesday, September 5 at their respective schools. Be safe and well.

ACTION REQUIRED: Annual Student Information Update
To prioritize safety and efficiency, we require all parents and students to complete a yearly review and sign off on the information, policies, and procedures.
To streamline this process and make it convenient for everyone, we have integrated this review into our user-friendly Parent Portal system, which we refer to as "Online Registration" or "The Yearly Information Update" in our communications.
All families must complete this review, update any information that may have changed since last year, and sign off on required policies and procedures by September 7, 2023. Families with 5th and 9th-grade students should know that this process must be completed before a school-issued Chromebook will be deployed to their child.
For more information, please review the Technology Department communication and instructions here: https://bit.ly/3QRXuNo.
The Parent Portal can be accessed here: https://bit.ly/2ZWLIHs (Please login and complete the review by clicking MORE > New Student Reg & Update > 2023-24 New Student Registration and Annual Update by September 7).
